What Is Your Deadline For Your Dream Life

I want to start by saying that Everything that has happened to you and for you happens by YOU taking action of some kind.

Most everything that has happened that is good or bad was due to the choices you made.

There are times when you have taken action on something, and it became apparent that you have no control over the outcome.

There are other times when you take action, and you quickly realize that it might be a lot of work, or the result might not be quite right, so you gave up or let the outcome happen TO you versus taking action to redirect it to a positive experience.

At that moment, it becomes essential to step into the entrepreneurs' role and say,

"This is what I want. Here is how I want to get there".

Society gave us a roadmap to go to college, get a degree, and work for a corporation, and that's our life.

If I followed that model, I would be miserable.

I'm not saying it is wrong. I am saying it wasn't right for me. I knew from the time I was very young that I would work for myself and call my own shots.

I challenge you to look at what society says you should do and what you TRULY desire and see if they match up. If it doesn't, keep listening.

I challenge you not to accept where you are but to dream bigger

You only get to do this life one time, and if we settle in what is comfortable or what is expected of us without evaluating what that next step looks like or what we dream about, then what do you have?

We have one life. It's a gift, not a given.

Are you living your life on your terms?

Are you happy with it?

If you answered NO, then please, take action on moving towards those dreams that you have right now.

When we think about our dream life, we dream a little small or safe because our mind wants to keep us safe.

Our mind keeps us within familiar boundaries.

I challenge you to think outside the box, outside the boundaries that keep us safe.

Think bigger as if anything and everything is possible.

When you start to think about your dream life, it might get uncomfortable.

Fear will come up.

You might all of a sudden feel judgment from family and friends and shove the dream back down.

I want you to work through these fears right now

Write down everything you are feeling on paper.

See where the blocks are.

By doing this, you are declaring your thoughts and feelings. It's okay to have these blocks but understand that you can choose to stay where you are or choose to change that mindset and go for your bigger dreams.

IF you are ready to go for your bigger dream life then it's time to get very specific on exactly what that looks like. When you have a clear vision of where you are going it will be easier to put a plan in place to achieve the life that you ultimately want.

So here are some questions to ask yourself:

In your ideal world, what does your life look like?

  • How many days a month/week are you working?
  • Where do you live?
  • Do you live in multiple locations?
  • Do you travel?
  • Where do you go?
  • When you work, is it in an office, or is it by the fireplace or beach?
  • Who are you with?
  • Do you have children? Where do they go to school? Pets?
  • What kind of car do you drive?
  • What does your home look like?
  • What is your daily routine?
  • What are your hobbies?

BE SPECIFIC

I want more money or pay off debt are reasonable goals but be even more specific.

  • How much money do you want to make? 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, and beyond.
  • How will you pay off your debt?
  • How much do you need to make to pay off your debt?
  • How long will it take?
  • What do you have to do to make that a reality?

Put a number on it.

  • How many dollars per month for how long until your bill is paid off?
  • How many hours a week do you want to be working?
  • How much money do you need to bring in to make that a reality?

When you say you want to go on more adventures or travel:

  • Where are you going?
  • How long will you be gone?
  • How much will it cost?
  • Who will go with you?
  • Will you travel alone? With family? Or Friends?

Just a side note: It's not just about the money you will make but the person you will become along the way.

Who do you want to be?

What kind of person do you want to become?

I hear this all the time:

  • I would love to do what you do, but….
  • I would love to have my own business, but….
  • I would love to teach X, Y, and Z, but….
  • I would love to work part-time, but….
  • I would love to, but….

You can disrupt that story, change your mindset, and rewrite it. One of the most important details to note is that everyone starts from scratch.

The people you see that are successful started with ZERO clients, ZERO followers, ZERO email lists, and just a dream in their mind like you.

How can you make small changes to make your dream life look like that vision of success in your mind?

What do you need to do today to clear space and move forward with your vision?

And most importantly,

Give your dream a deadline.

When there is a deadline, it becomes a goal. Without a deadline, it becomes --> someday.

Someday isn't going to happen magically, and someday is not a day on the calendar.

Be Bold today.

Give your dreams a date, a non-negotiable date.

By declaring a date, it becomes real.

When you give yourself a date, you know that you need to get the actions done to achieve the goal for your deadline.

I can’t wait to see what you bring to this world.

Let's do this.  I believe in you.  Until next time
